Civic Passage Foundation is a values-driven community-action organization that seeks to connect underserved and vulnerable communities with community organizations, social services, and other resources available to them.
Why Civic Passage exists
Civic Passage exists not simply to create additional services, but to address the distance between existing resources and the people who need them. That distance can appear as unfamiliarity, difficult intake pathways, fragmented eligibility rules, lost referrals, lack of continuity, or weak relationships between people and institutions.
Core values
Compassion
Respond to human need with empathy and concern.
Dignity
Treat people as persons with agency, not merely recipients of assistance.
Community
Build durable relationships among neighbors, volunteers, organizations, and institutions.
Agility
Allow local initiatives to adapt to changing circumstances and community-specific needs.
Founding stage
Civic Passage is currently in its founding stage. The immediate work is institutional and relational: build the founding board, listen to community and service-system stakeholders, verify the initial Venice ecosystem, and identify a small intervention only after the actual failure of passage is better understood.
